Arco is on Google Play, and anyone can install it now.
If you've ever sat down to work out where your month went, you'll know the tedious part isn't the thinking, it's the typing — copying line after line off a statement before you can see anything useful. That's the part Arco is built to take off your hands.
Hand it a PDF of your bank or card statement and it reads the transactions out for you, with a category already suggested for each one, so you're reviewing a list instead of building it. You give it the statement you already receive, and never your online banking login, which also means it works with banks that no budgeting app has ever supported. It's still in beta, and free accounts get one import a month.
The rest is what you'd expect, and all of it is free: accounts, categories, monthly budgets, a twelve-month spending chart, multi-currency, recurring transactions, a PIN or fingerprint lock, CSV export, and a full backup you can restore. Logging what you spend works with no account at all — nothing to sign up for, nothing to verify — and it's all stored on your device. Signing in is only for syncing across your own devices, and for import.
Where it runs
| Platform | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Android | Google Play |
| macOS | Download for Mac, and it keeps itself up to date |
| Windows | Microsoft Store |
| iPhone | Not yet, and I'd rather not promise a date I'm not sure of |
On Mac and Windows it's a proper desktop app, laid out for a big screen, rather than the phone version stretched to fit a window.
Nothing arrives on its own, so you either add things as you spend or hand it a statement and let it do the typing. That's the trade for never being asked to log in to your bank.
If something breaks, there's a support thread inside the app under Settings → Contact support.
